Escape room horror game

Hasfax is a horror adventure game where you find yourself locked in an abandoned building. The goal is to escape by finding the keys to the doors. The catch, however, is that the keys are hard to find, and there are too many doors to unlock.

Hasfax is essentially an escape room type of game. However, unlike similar titles, it plays like a walking simulator. There will be no puzzles to solve to earn the keys to the doors. You only have to find them. Additionally, while it has creepy music and an environment, you are not exactly in danger.

Find the keys, escape the rooms

In Hasfax, you take on the role of a man who found himself inside an abandoned building. There aren't many clues as to why he is in there. He also does not know who took him there. What he does know is that he has to escape before it is too late. To do so, he must find the keys to the doors.

Unlike other escape room games, the gameplay involves traversing rooms and gathering the keys that will open the door. While this simplifies the mechanics, some players will find it too repetitive. Moreover, while the atmosphere looks horrifying, the protagonist is never in real danger. There isn't anyone chasing him, unlike in other horror games. What chases him are memories and flashbacks.

Players will also find the visuals repetitive as you navigate room after room, which is well-depicted and considerably detailed. Moreover, the corridors and overall lighting add a good visual atmosphere. However, you will find the keys too hard to see since they blend to the surface that they're laid on. They also have the same name and models, making it hard to distinguish them from one another.

There are better escape rooms

All in all, Hasfax is a game that brings a unique twist to the escape room genre. The mechanics are simple as it is more about finding keys rather than solving puzzles. However, the developer stripped the elements typical of the genre that it is actually bare. The entire experience is repetitive. Moreover, while it has a visually pleasing map, the UI makes it hard to actually spot the keys.
